SCAF and the Constitution-Drafting

Egypt's Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF) held a strange press conference with only foreign media present to insist thast the military, not the new Parliament, will preside over the selection of the committee to draw up a new Constitution. To reassure the Americans?

I'm swamped finishing up work on our Winter issue and may address this further tonight of tomorrow,  until which time may I refer you to Issandr El Amrani, and on the military's role more generally, Nathan Brown, and Robert Springborg.More from me when I can.
